| Central Turf Farms' mineral Kentucky Bluegrass sod uses the
same blend as our other Hybrid Kentucky Bluegrass. This variety is grown on a
sandy loam soil which allows water through the sod encouraging the grass roots to grow
down into the existing subsoil.

The heavy bulky soil does not make a roll unmanageable to
lay. Although, still much heavier than peat, we still cut our mineral sod 24 inches
wide making the sod faster to lay with less seems and gaps. This keeps the sod from
drying out as fast as smaller rolls and gives the finished yard a better appearance. |

Although this sod loses much of its color when first laid, if maintained
properly, it will have the same dark green color creating the same rich and beautiful
lawn. Our mineral sod will also avoid the problem of shrinking when dry which is
prone to occur with ordinary peat sod. The grass will die if not watered
effectively, however it will not shrink creating gaps between the rolls.
